  on friday, i walked to my doctor's to pick up a couple of prescriptions*.

  from there i walked in to town to the chemist's (pharmacy) to get the scripts filled.

  it's winter here, and my town can get get colder than is average for my state**.

  i don't think it is possible to believe in jesus and then not believe what he said.

  the purpose of the watchtower organization is to take as many people to hell as possible.

  I believe Jesus probably existed.

  I also believe that for someone that is supposed to be the son of god / god , he didn't really say a lot of helpful things.

  I mean, every word he spoke should have been recorded. Why didn't someone ask him about cancer/ malaria/ clean drinking water/ dental hygiene/ electricity/ the best possible diet that lets the average person live a long, healthy life? His message was basically, " don't worry - it will all make sense after you die".

  This was an opportunity to really lift the everyday existence of the average human. Its only now , 2000 years later that humans have been able to figure all this stuff out on our own, at the cost of millions of lives.

  The stupid part about the old understanding is the claim that the preaching work will end before the great tribulation starts. Matthew 24 clearly indicates that the preaching work is the the last thing to be accomplished before the end comes.

  As far as I know, the GB has always used the term 'the last days', to describe the last hundred years or so, without ever using the term ' the great tribulation'. By their own calculations and description of the world, shouldn't we be living in the great tribulation right now? I mean, everything fits- just like at almost any other time in history.

  it even literally compares the good guy to jesus being tempted by satan.. deserved criticism is really what the gb fears the most.

  the irritating thing is most jw's will swallow this koolaid.

  final thoughts after 15 hours of the 2025 assembly.

  after dedicating 15 hours to the 2025 assembly, i walked away with a heavy sense of spiritual emptiness.

  the only part that managed to stir anything within me was a single video on day one titled “what does jesus see in you?”—a piece with sentimental appeal, but still surface-level at best.. .

  If the slave class was truly discreet - as they claim, they would apologise for promoting false prophecies. Instead, they say that there is no need for them to apologise for anything.

  They claim no special knowledge but expect unquestioning obedience. In fact, to question them is to question god.

  Liam, you seem to like conspiracy theories - heres one:

  Elon Musk was born in South Africa.

  Elon Musk is Donald Trumps best friend.

  Whites traditionally mistreated the black population of South Africa and apartheid only ended in 1990. Racial discrimination was actually written into law during the 20th century.

  Bottom line - South Africa has a really troubled history that officially only ended very recently.
